LORO-X Push-fit socket
No welding - just push-fit
The LORO-X socket is a two-stage push-fit socket. The upper socket chamber accommodates the sealing element. The centering lower socket chamber protects against buckling of the pipeline. The LORO-X push-fit socket connection is not only watertight but also pressure-resistant and backflow-proof.
It has proven itself millions of times for gravity flow and pressure flow. Its stability creates safety and trust. With the LORO-XP pressure pipe clamp, LORO-X steel discharge pipes can also be used for vacuum operation (e.g., vacuum toilet systems, vacuum cleaning systems).
Horizontal Installation
The pipe system can be used not only as a vertical downpipe but also in horizontal installation as a diversion, e.g., as a collection pipe in the building, through the parapet, or over staggered floors and cascades. In this case, the lower stage of the socket chamber acts as a pipe-centering element, ensuring radially uniform pressure distribution in the push-fit socket connection.
Sealing Element
The special LORO-X sealing element is designed as a lip seal. It is inserted into the upper socket chamber. By inserting the pipe end, the sealing lips are pressed against the inner wall of the socket chamber and the outer wall of the inserted pipe. The collar of the sealing element resting on the socket edge prevents it from being pulled out of its seat during insertion. The collar is visible all around and thus forms the control for a properly made socket connection. As pressure increases inside the pipe, the lips of the sealing element are pressed more firmly against the pipe walls.
DIN 1986-100 6.1.2: "Tightness of wastewater pipes and their connections: Wastewater pipes must be permanently tight at an internal and external overpressure of up to 50 kPa (0.5 bar) under the possible interactions between them and their environment."
Tolerance Compensation
The LORO-X push-fit socket also allows for tolerance compensation during installation.
Pressure-resistant and Backflow-proof
Minimal dimensional tolerances for maximum tightness
The long-lasting tightness of the LORO-X push-fit socket connection is achieved through optimally coordinated sockets, sealing elements, and spigot ends - especially at higher flow velocities, vibrations, and pressures in the pipe system. The pressure resistance per nominal width can be found in the installation instructions for steel drainage pipes.
Since European standards allow for higher tolerances, production and quality control at LORO work according to internal specifications (factory standard) that allow only significantly lower tolerances compared to standard market norms. For pipe systems with push-fit socket connections, reliable tightness depends particularly on the coordinated dimensions and tolerances of the socket and the sealing elements.
